MANILA—The Philippine Azkals recovered from a shock Afghanistan goal to score a come-from-behind 2-1 win in a FIFA friendly on Tuesday night at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Sebastian Rasmussen and Christian Rontini took charge in the Azkals' comeback as they bucked off a mid-second-half goal that put Afghanistan ahead.

Omif Popalzay stunned the 2,157 fan-strong Rizal Memorial Stadium when he scored a 64th-minute goal to put the road team ahead.

Rasmussen, however, charged through the Afghanistan backline and equalized with a 74th-minute strike from just outside the box.

Rontini then won it for the Azkals with an 81st-minute goal off a corner kick.
