MANILA—The old guard refuses to back down.

Team Liquid Philippines cemented their dominance in MPL-PH Season 15 after a commanding 2-0 sweep over defending world champions ONIC Philippines on Saturday evening at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.

Despite an even kill count early in Game 1, the Cavalry built a significant gold lead through Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno’s precise Suyou play, securing all three turtles.

Sanford Vinuya’s Lukas initiated a game-changing dive at 8:02, catching Borris "Brusko" Parro’s Hylos and Duane "Kelra" Pillas’s Granger off-guard, setting up an early lord take.

Kiel "Oheb" Soriano, debuting Bruno this season, went online in the mid-game, shredding ONIC’s frontline with relentless damage.

A costly misplay from ONIC led to a four-for-none trade, allowing TLPH to close out Game 1 in just 11:40.

ONIC responded in Game 2 with renewed aggression, securing two turtles and a full team wipe at 7:22 to regain momentum.

Despite losing the first Lord, TLPH quickly turned the tables by picking off Brusko’s Jawhead and Frince "SuperFrince" Ramirez’s Valentina.

Oheb, now on Granger, secured a double kill before claiming the enhanced lord at the 13-minute mark, further stacking his Sky Piercer.

A clutch backdoor play from Alston "Sanji" Pabico’s Luo Yi at 16 minutes caught four ONIC members off guard, setting up Oheb’s Maniac to seal the sweep.

Now standing alone atop the standings at 5-0, TLPH prepares to face the surging TNC Pro Team on Friday.

Meanwhile, ONIC Philippines, now 1-3 and sitting at fifth, looks to bounce back tomorrow against AP Bren, who is seeking their first series win.
