MANILA—Team Liquid Philippines (TLPH) and Team Falcons Philippines (FLPH) established themselves as early frontrunners in the SIBOL 2025 National Team Selection for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), dominating their respective groups on Day 1 of the qualifiers held online on Monday.
TLPH swept Group A, going undefeated with clean 2-0 victories over Smart Omega and Team Liquid Academy Philippines (TLAPH) to collect 4 points and a perfect plus-4 game differential.
TLAPH and TWPH trailed behind with 4 and 2 points respectively, while Omega and Nani Izanami struggled to find footing with just 2 and 0 points apiece.
In Group B, FLPH asserted dominance with a 2-1 win over ONIC Philippines, followed by straight-set victories against RRQ Kaito and National University Bulldogs to grab the lead at 6 points with a 3-0 win-loss slate.
ONIC PH followed closely with 4 points, while RRQ Kaito with 2 points, AP Bren, and NU Bulldogs rounded out the standings.
The tournament resumes on Tuesday with key matchups that could shake up the current standings.
In Group A, Twisted Minds PH will challenge the undefeated TLPH, NANI faces TLAPH, TLPH returns against NANI, and Omega meets TWPH in the day's closer.
Meanwhile, Group B will see AP Bren take on NU Bulldogs, RRQ Kaito clash with ONIC PH, NU return for a second match against RRQ Kaito, and FLPH go up against AP Bren.
Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals on Wednesday, where a single-elimination format awaits to determine the winner of the aforesaid tournament.
